They were devastated after WWII, then the wall, now 20 years later from the unification they excel in every field. They are better than UK, Italy and France, probably better than th US.

Germans have an incredible work ethic, just I think their current success is inspite of all their problems. Imagine how successful they would be if they didn't have a good percentage of their population weighing them down by living on welfare and going to free University until they're 30.
